In short
- Together.Tasks stores the tasks, checklists, locations, and comments you and your pod-mates create — that's the whole product.
- Anyone you're not sharing a pod with can't see your stuff.
- We don't run ads, sell your data, or use advertising identifiers. We do use Firebase Analytics (basic app-usage events) and Crashlytics (crash reports) to keep the app working and improve it.
- If your pod turns on Tuffy, our AI assistant, the relevant task text is sent to Google's Vertex AI to generate suggestions.
- If you grant location permission, the app may use your approximate location to find nearby places. Location is optional.
- If you import from your phone's calendar, the events you choose are copied into your pod as tasks. Calendar access is optional, and nothing is read until you pick calendars to import.
- Email us any time to see, correct, or delete your data.
01Who we are
Together.Tasks is developed and published by Tyche Apps. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Together.Tasks Android app — a shared task list for a "pod": a family, a group of roommates, friends planning something together, or any small group getting things done as one list.
If anything here is unclear, email tyche.apps@gmail.com — a person reads that inbox, not a bot.
02What we collect
Everything below exists to run a shared task list, keep it working, and (if you opt in) power its assistant.
| Category | What it includes | Why we have it |
|---|---|---|
| Account info | Your name, email address, and profile photo, from Google Sign-In. | Creates your account and identifies you to your pod-mates. |
| Tasks & content | Task titles, descriptions, checklists, notes, due dates, comments, reactions, and any photos or files you attach. | The core of the app — the list you and your pod share. |
| Locations you add | An address you type onto a task, and the coordinates we resolve from it. | Shows a map preview on that task. |
| Approximate device location (optional) | Only if you grant location permission: your approximate location at the moment you create a task, stored with that task. Never collected in the background. | Lets the assistant find nearby places when a task doesn't name one. |
| Calendar events (optional) | Only if you grant calendar permission and choose calendars to import: each imported event's title, description, location, date and time, and reminders, saved as a task in your pod. Events from a Google calendar also get a link back to the original event, which contains the event's ID and the calendar account's email address. If sync is on, we also keep a small record of which calendars are synced into the pod, so changes on your phone can update their tasks. We only read calendars owned by the account you signed in with. | Brings your calendar events into your shared list and keeps them up to date. |
| Link previews | A URL you share into a task, and the page's own title/image/description, fetched automatically by our servers. | Turns a raw link into a readable preview card. |
| Device push token | An identifier Google assigns your device for notifications. | Delivers alerts when your pod's activity happens. |
| Usage analytics | Basic app-usage events (for example, finishing the intro tour or changing the theme), plus device and app details Firebase Analytics collects automatically, such as device model, OS version, app version, and a random app-instance identifier. | Understand which features are used and fix problems. |
| Crash & diagnostic data | Crash reports and stack traces, device model, OS version, and an app-instance identifier, via Firebase Crashlytics. | Find and fix crashes. |
| AI usage records | Counts and estimated cost of assistant requests, tied to your account and pod. | Enforce fair-use limits and keep the service affordable. |
We deliberately don't collect any of the following:
03How sharing in a pod works
This isn't "third-party sharing" — it's the app doing its job.
A pod is the group you share a list with. Every task, checklist, location, comment, and reaction you add to a pod is visible to every other member of that same pod — that's what makes it a shared list instead of a private notes app. Your account info (name, photo) is likewise visible to anyone you share a pod with, so they know who did what.
Calendar events you import become ordinary tasks in that pod, so every pod member can see them, including their descriptions, locations, and links. Pod members can also see that you sync calendars into the pod and how many. Current versions of the app don't show them those calendars' names; versions older than 1.47 did, so update the app if that matters to you.
Nobody outside your pod's membership can see any of it. Joining a pod requires an invite code from an existing member; there's no public directory or search.
04Tuffy & AI features
The assistant only runs where your pod has switched it on, or when you ask it something directly.
Tuffy is Together.Tasks' AI assistant. It can suggest recipes, find nearby places, and help fill in tasks. To do that, our servers send the relevant task text (such as the title, description, and links), your message to Tuffy, and, where applicable, an approximate location to Google Vertex AI, which generates the response. We also use the Google Places API to look up places and details.
We use Google Cloud's AI services under Google Cloud's terms, which state that customer data isn't used to train Google's models without permission. We don't use your content to train any AI models ourselves. AI output can be wrong, so double-check anything important.
Anything you put into a task in a pod where Tuffy is enabled may be processed this way. If you'd rather it not be, don't enable the assistant for your pod, or leave sensitive details out of tasks.
05Who else sees it
Just our infrastructure providers — nobody buys or sees your data for their own purposes.
Together.Tasks runs on Google Firebase and Google Cloud — Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Vertex AI, and the Places API. These providers store and process your data on our behalf under Google's privacy policy and Google Cloud's terms. We don't use the advertising features of Google's products, and we don't share Analytics data with advertising services.
When a task has a location attached, the small map image is fetched directly from OpenStreetMap's public tile servers. That request includes your device's IP address and the map area being shown, the same as any map image on the web — governed by OpenStreetMap Foundation's privacy policy.
When you add a link, our servers request that web page to build the preview, so the site being linked sees a request coming from our servers (not your device).
We don't sell your data, run ads, or share it with data brokers, ever. We may disclose information if legally required to.
Your data is stored and processed on Google's servers, which may be located in the United States or other countries than your own.
06How we protect it
Everything the app sends and receives travels over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Data at rest in Firebase is encrypted by Google's own infrastructure-level encryption.
Access to a pod's data is enforced by server-side security rules, not just app logic — every request is checked against exactly which pods you belong to before any data is returned.
In plain terms: as the app's developer, we can access data through our own infrastructure — same as the operator of any hosted app. We only do so to fix bugs, respond to a support request, or as legally required, never to browse people's lists out of curiosity.
07Keeping & deleting your data
While you're using Together.Tasks
We keep your account and pod content for as long as your account exists, so your lists are there when you open the app.
Calendar sync
Turning off calendar sync for a pod, or removing the app's calendar permission, stops any further reading of your calendar. Tasks already imported stay in the pod as ordinary tasks until someone deletes them.
Leaving a pod
Leaving a pod removes your membership immediately. Content you added stays with the pod for the members who remain — the same way it would in any shared document — unless you delete it yourself first. If you're the last member, the whole pod and everything in it is deleted.
Deleting your account
Email tyche.apps@gmail.com from your account's address with "Delete my account" in the subject. We'll remove your sign-in credentials, your profile (name, email, photo, device token), and every pod membership within 30 days. Content you shared inside a pod may remain there for the pod's other members, same as leaving described above — tell us if you'd like specific content removed too and we'll do our best to accommodate it.
Analytics, crash and usage data
Crash reports are kept by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days. Analytics data is kept for the retention period configured in Firebase, no longer than 14 months. AI usage records are kept while your account exists and are removed with it. You can also clear the app's data or uninstall the app at any time; that stops new data from your device being collected.
08Your rights
Whatever country you live in, you can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can ask for a copy in a portable format. If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK, California, or another place with privacy laws that give you additional rights (including the right to object to or restrict processing, or to complain to your local data protection authority), those apply too.
We process your data to provide the service you asked for (performing our agreement with you), to keep it secure and working (our legitimate interests), and, for optional features like device location and calendar import, with your permission — which you can withdraw at any time in your device's settings. We don't sell or "share" personal information for cross-context advertising, and we don't make automated decisions with legal effects on you.
To exercise any of these rights, email tyche.apps@gmail.com from your account's address. We'll respond within 30 days.
09Children's privacy
Together.Tasks is meant for adults and teens managing a household, group, or project together. It isn't directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age), and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.
10Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the effective date above and, for anything significant, let you know in the app or by email. Checking back here occasionally is always fine too.
